The Gromfest crew thought we were done for the summer until we got a last minute phone call to be a part of the 5^th Annual Scott Stamnes Bowl Jam.

 

  This event raises money for the “Scott Stamnes Give to Kids Fund” which provides funding to support kids today that have the passion, but maybe not the finances, to be a part of non-mainstream activities.

 

  So on Saturday, August 26^th, we packed up our stuff and headed to Port Angeles, Washington. If you’ve never been to PA, it’s a small city on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. While they city may not be huge, the competition went off

 

  With various divisions and tons of competitors, the event went all day. In the end however, Gromfest chose 4 kids to qualify for next summer:

            

            - Matthew Floresca
            - Michael O’Friel

            - TJ Lewis

            - Sky Siljeg

 

  Both Matthew and Michael took first in their divisions and blew away the competition. TJ and Sky both competed in the sponsored division (seeing as how they’re sponsored) and held their own against guys twice their age…and size! All in all there was no doubt in our minds that these four were all ready for Gromfest.

 

It's official...as of August, Gromfest has teamed up with SkateboardVillage.com in order to expose even more skaters (a.k.a. potential Gromfest qualifiers) to this one-of-a-kind competition.

 

Keep an eye to the Gromfest page and official Gromfest site for all the updates on where we'll be holding qualifiers, and expect to see skateboardvillage.com banners and prizes at each and every qualifying comp!

 

Also keep checking back cause we're concocting (yes, that's right, I used the word concocting) an online competition that only skateboardvillage.com members can be a part of.
