Mentality Deck and Skateboarding Explained DVD Blog Contest.

Skateboarding Explained and Mentailty have teamed up to give you a Mentality Deck and a Skateboarding Explained Instructional DVD.

 

How do I win?

Write a blog about your life and skateboarding, what it means to you, a feeling of learning a new trick, or that frustration you get when you can’t learn that trick you want to land so bad. Just write about yourself and skateboarding.

 

RULES

Contest is open to anyone.

Write a blog on SkateboardVillage.com, Tag it “SkateboardingExplained”.

Enter as many times as you like, but you can only write a maximum of one blog per day.

A winner will be announced on March 2nd  extended to March 10th.

to me skateboarding is the best thing ever the days i can do it i get sooo mad i cant even explain how mad and when i cant get a trick i feel something that just keeps makeing me try more and more it is not a very good feeling some times it makes me angers but when i land one for the first time it is the best feeling in the world thair is no way i can explain it  its just very good and skateboarding means soooooooo much to me if skateboarding was not invented i would be extreamly fat like i was befor i started i youse to sit inside and watch tv and not do anything but then i met someone who skated and he somehow got me doing it and i thank him soo much he made my life more fun and helped me lose weight

its a way to get away. just escape from everything and go ride. sure, it can be considerd an art or a sport, but more than that it gives people a chance to just ignore everything else around, push, ride and have a good time...

To me skateboarding is something i like doing everyday even when i'm not skating it still catches my eye when ever some els skates. Skateboarding is always funn even when we can't get that trick down or when your having a bad day cuz i'll probally sit down n laff about it later. when ever i do get tricks down i always have that feeling lik u just won something n all i wanna do is go keep skating learning more tricks. I also lik tha different types/styles of skateboard there so tight. When ever i skateboard i like to goff around sometimes when i"m frustrated just make me happy like i do kickflip then land one footed n lik have my hand in the air or something. Skateboard is so much fun.

You will learne them some day but u fall get right back up try again its only going to make you better.

i have broken so many bones but,broken bones arnt going to stop me from what i love to do the most. Its and (X) whitch stands for Xtreme. Dont matter if your proor your the best you will get pain but dont let it in your way.

Skateboarding is not about how good you are,or bragging about your sponsors its not all about that.

Skateboarding to me is just for fun until things come up,saying some one wants me to be pro or on there team yea ill take it but will never brag dosnt get you no where.

alrihgt to most people skateboarding is just a hobbie, but to me it is life. i know a lot of people may just say that to win this contest but im truthful to it. there is a certain feeling i have when i skate and it makes everything else go away. when im rolling on the urathane and i hear the sound of my bearings under me it is amazing. its like i dont have a care in the world. i love skating because its something i can do on my own, you know. i dont have a coach or anyone else telling me what to do, i just go wiht the flow of my self and have fun. a lot of people just skate for something to do and when they graduate and go off to college there done skating, but i want to make a career out of it, and i think i can if i just continue skating as long as i can and im willing to take what ever it takes to get to that point. that is

to me skateboarding is just life....ummmmmmm i don't know of any other way to put it
 
when i go to sleep i dream of making a new trick and landing it
when i wake up i get on my board and try out some new movements
and every object i pass on the way to and from work i'm like damn that would be sweet to do a trick on!
 
i can't do that many tricks but the ones i can i put full effort into to make them better
 
but when i do land a trick its one of the greatest feelings of all time
 
and when i don't land a trick it doesn't piss me off it makes me more determined to land that trick
 
the best advice i can give is don't go to a skate camp just learn on your own and never give up ever no matter what if u want to skate all u can think about is skating than thats what u need to do

Skateboarding is something that i love to do something thats not seroius like life as everyone makes it when i get home i throw down my stuff and have a 5 hour session in my garage when you skateboard you are relieved of everyday stuff in life that you would probably worry about if you werent skateboarding when i land a trick i accomplish something i have been putting my swear and tears in and that makes me throw my hands up and say "i landed it" and go to school and brag to my other friends about what i learned last night when i cant get a trick i stick to that trick until i land it be consistent with your skateboarding is something that every skateboarder probably knows about because not skateboarding for a month then all the sudden you get on a board you get stiff fast and you are sloppy i skateboard everyday no matter what.

Skateboarding to me is about aniticipation and selfconfidence. And commitment also.When I know that i havent tried a trick, or havent practiced on it a lot, i look ahead, and anticipate, whats gonna happen, and how am i going to do it so that i remeber.Now CONFIDENCE.If you dont have confidence in yourself, your going to bail, your gonna chicken out, get too nervous. i rember when i landed my first kickflip the feeling was incredable. and skateboarding is my life and pretty much all i do except for school and if i had a choice i would just do skateboarding to so please pick me because truth is my board got stolen yesterday. and im kinda pissed that i can't do my passion.

skateboarding is a feeling that has sunk into my body since i was a kid. the feeling of urethane to concrete, has got to be the most uplifting feeling i've felt in my life. skateboarding's made a huge impact on how i live life. i cant go a day without stepping on it. just going out and riding for hours, gives me a warm smooth feeling, skating with the crew, having fun, is what it's all about. to normal people, they see skateboarding as just a sport. to me, its a passion, and it expresses who i am. the exhiliration you get from landing a trick, and riding away, is indescribable. you feel like you accomplished more than you expected. if i fall down, or cant get a trick for hours, i just think about it and say "i got somethin to look forward to tomorrow". skateboarding means the world to me, and i wouldnt give it up for the world. skateboarding is what i want to do, for every moment of my life.

I reapeat to myself Ok, your gonna either land this, or get better from the practice. And eventually, i trusted myself more, and got more comfortable, doing better or harder tricks.COMMITEMENT. Commit youself to your board, commit yourself to the environment. This is my main key here. Dont back away because you supposedly cant land this. Just try, and keep going at it. I havent been able to go to the skatepark lately becuase of the bad weather.my commitment to skateboarding did not let that get in the way of learning, I practiced and practiced in my 15' garage.
