As of 10a.m. Friday, August 18th, fans of skateboarding and new music will have three options to choose from for tickets that best fit their summer schedule and budget.

That’s because Slam City Jam evening SESSION Tickets go on sale Friday morning at all Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.ca or by phoning 403.777.0633.

Individual SESSION Tickets join Three-day SERIES Tickets and DAY Tickets among the options available to action sports fans living in Calgary or visiting Alberta for the $100,000 USD Slam City Jam North American Skateboard Championships, one of the world’s premiere skateboarding events and part of the World Cup of Skateboarding. More than 100 of the world’s top professional skateboarders will be competing for top honours in Street and Vert at Stampede Park, August 25-27, 2006.

“We still encourage our fans and their families to consider the best value and the best seating that comes with Three-day SERIES Tickets, but we’re proud to offer choices that fit time schedules, interests and budgets,” said Kleo Landucci, President of Slam City Jam. “Advance tickets are the way to go to reserve seats for Slam City and SERIES are the best of those, with savings of 20 % on the price of regular admission. But with the intimate venues we have at Stampede Park in the Calgary Corral and the Round Up Centre, there isn’t a bad seat in the house.”

Skaters such as Ryan Sheckler of the U.S. and Chris Haslam of Richmond, B.C. will be featured in the Slam City Street Championships. The event also includes the Slam City Vert Championships, the DC Nationals for up and coming amateurs, the Es Game of Skate and Tony Hawk’s Grand Jam. The music line up features Blackalicious, MC Supernatural, Scratch, Cadence Weapon and special surprise guests performing on the MuchMusic Stage.
