My Blog: wear red
By: Asmurf24

Will you give this to my Daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'

Last week I was in , attending a conference. While I
was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me
beginning to clap and cheer I immediately turned around and witnessed
one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they
began heading to their gate, everyone (well alm ost everyone)was abruptly
to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and
cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded
American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their
families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young
unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so
we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be m ore proud of my country or of our
service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran
up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy
for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself,
said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then
suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the
biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of t he little girl, who said her daughter's name was
Courtney, told the young soldi er that her husband was a Marine and had
been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her
daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all
of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the
other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They
started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to
Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he
told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he
had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying
'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and
he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young
soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was
standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people
resumed their applause As I stood there applauding and looked around,
there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in
one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney
with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and
thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's
good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to
be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are
voicing our love for God, country and home in record b reaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. We get no liberal
media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many
Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity
and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday
until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every
red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the
bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the
once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more
than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make
things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and
wear something red every Friday.

IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.

IF YOU COULD CARE LESS THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON --- IT IS YOUR
  CHOICE.

D.O.P.E. is coming!!!!
DEATH OR PRISON EVENTUALLY!!!!!
A true story about the greats of Skating
Bruce Logan World Champion 1975 76
Dogtowns Jay Adams maybe the skater who revolusionised skateboarding
Dennis Martinez world Chmapion
Christian Hosoi the skate star of the 80s
D.O.P.E. tracks the Rise and Fall and Redemption of Four major skateboard legends.
Stunning archival footage and current HD interviews take you on a rollercoaster ride through heaven and hell, where the highs of championship trophies are followed by the lows of addiction, homelessness, prison and death. Original music by Grammy winners ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, P.O.D> and SWITCHFOOT along with some exciting new musical groups is perfectly married with the gritty narration of famed actor DANNY TREJO. The Rise is steep the fall is brutal and the Redemption nothing less than miraculous.

Nobody"s going to get up for popcorn during this film; I coudn't turn away for a second.
WATCH IT
-Actor Danny Trejo

D.O.P.E is DogTown with a message. I've skated all my life, and write this with a broken wrist from skating. This film is all about brokenness, but so much more, this film is about redemption!!!

-Jim Moriarty, CEO Surfrider Foundation

Everyone pretty much knows that drugs wreck LIVES, but somehow the message doesn't seem to hit home enough to stop people from doin' 'em D.O.P.E. delivers the point with both barrels. With unflinching cander and unfeigned grit, the amazing story of one of skateboarding's founding legends; Dennis Martinez speaks with authority that transcends wards of power that will change lives.

-Skateboarding Legend Rodney Mullen

This movie shows how any person at the top of their game can be taken over by the uncontrolled power of drugs and be changed forever. You can only ride the edge so far before you FALL.

-Professional Skateboarder, 6 times X Games Champion Bucky Lasek

A Fascinating glimpse into the rise , fall and redemption of some of the world's greatest
- Michael Brooke, Publisher, Concrete Wave

In sharing this with you all I feel is blessed to be a part of this.
Like last year
Myself and Dennis Martinez are going to be going into the schools in the Cayman Islands to share this message and then on the 31st May 2008 we will be showing the movie in one of the local Cinemas.
Being in Law Enforcemnet I have had first hand experience seeing people make the wrong decision to get involved in drugs. I have seen families torn appart, people die because of drugs, do time, and suffer illnesses which have lead also to eventuall death.

Dennis Martinez is someone who has lived it at the top earning over $40,000.00US per month in the 1970's, he had alll sponsorships, shoes, boards, cars all the trimmings being the top dog in skating, he then threw it all away for drugs. Imagine  he pawned for $500.00US  of DOPE his pride and joy his WORLD CUP which he set his eyes on from the age of 12 years old. He lived on the streets saw his freinds die, robbed for a living to also feed his drug habit. He did time in prison; then something changed he now has a life he is a tireless worker for the better. He now pasters to CAT 4 prisoners he shares his experience so others do not make the same mistakes he and others made. I advise all to watch this movie as their are lessons to be learned by all
if you use drugs think about what help is out there seek it and get off it and if you know people do the right thing as a freind help them. THE LIFE YOU SAVE MIGHT BE YOUR OWN.
If you come to the Cayman Islands to skate BLACK PEARL you can say hi cause I will be there. a skater and PROUD FARTHER of
Brian 16
Sean 7
Juliana 2 she also skates
They skate and can be seen at Black Pearl

My Blog: Today
By: J03

Today has been pretty deece for the most part. Went to school where I had music first period. Had a sub in. It was gear!! Just brought out the intense black metal on the acoustics. Hahaha!
Nah, more like some acoustic doom metal, just me and Doug. It was a laugh.  After that I had some weird Career Development Presentation instead of Bio class. But Mr. Walsh had to be a dits and mark me absent for second period. So, when I got home today I got an automated message saying that I was absent and what not. The same message called again around 6:00! ahaha Rotted....Parents never knew what was on the go. Hopefully, they believed me.
So, that was pretty much my day right thurr! Except for a few games of Halo right after school. Haha. Owned some noobs!

Well, I'm off for a nap.
Pce!

Randomness here and there

Wish I could see through
See deep into you
And know what you're thinking now

You play it so cool

Something id thought id bring up

I wish I could just break this psychological barrier... Tear it down in a blaze of beauty and trauma. Time's set still always waiting for them to make the first move, but is it true or just an act of friendliness? "Please just trust me.", the heart screams. "But what if it all comes crashing down...", the mind shoots back...
But I guess that is the definition of being human, were not perfect. Were not all civil... were not all breathtaking. Maybe that's why I've been caged for the past 18 years, I'm trying to be something that I'm not. Shielding myself from everything that could go wrong. Just play the game son...
Everything is just so high upon itself right now... I just feel... feel like:

-Changing everything
-Having everything go perfectly
-Sharing wildest dreams with a stranger and contently listening...
-Staring at the stars admiring the vast probabilities that brought this all here, and then the probabilities that brought me to that thought.
-Altering the course of someone's life in a mere instant.

My whole life it repeats over and over, what incentive can I possibly have for things to change in the future?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

In the mid-1920's, Carlos Gracie opened the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He taught the skills he learned from Japanese Judo master Esai Maeda. The skills were later modified to use less strength and to be more effective against larger opponents. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's reputation spread due to the success of its practitioners in no holds barred contests.

Jiu Jutsu

Ancient Japanese martial art that encompasses throwing, joint locks, striking, and weapons training.

Judo

Sportive Japanese martial art founded in 1882 by Jigoro Kano. Derived from Jujutsu, Judo is now an Olympic sport that emphasizes throws. Striking is not allowed in competition Judo.

Karate

Name used to identify many Japanese and Okinawan martial arts. While known for powerful, linear techniques, many Karate styles also incorporate softer, circular techniques. Some of the popular styles of Karate are Kyokushinkai, Shotokan, Goju-Ryu, Shorin-Ryu, and Kenpo which was the first "Americanized" version of Karate.

Kickboxing

Sportive martial art combining boxing punches and martial arts kicks. Many different styles with different rules exist such as Muay Thai, Full Contact Karate, and Asian Rules Fighting.

Kung Fu

Also referred to as Gung Fu, Chinese Boxing, and Wu Shu. There are hundreds of Kung Fu styles. Many are patterned after the movements of animals. Some well known styles of Kung Fu are Wing Chun, Praying Mantis, Pau Kua, Tai-Chi-Ch'uan, and Shuai Chiao.

Tae Kwon Do

One of the most practiced martial arts in the world, Tae Kwon Do is a Korean style known for its flashy kicking techniques.

Wrestling

So this past weekend I spent 8am-3:30-4 pm at Jiminy Peak taking the hiring training course. I'm going to hopefully be a Skiwee (kids aged 3-6) ski instructor this year at Jiminy Peak. I can't wait.

So to reflect the past 2 days we all met in JJ's. We broke off into little groups and taught the trainer on the spot about something. I taught the group and trainer about the Chicken Dance because it was the only thing I could think of. We learned about the Teaching model/cycle and the Safety model/cycle. After lunch we had a "small group modeling session" where the trainer basically acted like we were all brand new skiiers and gave us a
"model" lesson. It was fun and I bet without it I would of failed completely at getting this job since I haven't skiied since 6th grade. After that we learned and talked about teaching children and youth. We discussed the differences between teaching children and adults.

Today we learned about the Guest Service model. Basically about how Guests are the number one priority and how we should act in our lessons and outside of them when We wear the Jacket. Then we broke off into our groups again and had a different trainer. We had to "teach" the trainer and the group the lesson based on the teaching cycle. (Which is Introduction, Assement, Goals/Achievements, Assement, Present information/show them how to do it, practice, assement/feedback, summary.) After we did that and had lunch we learned about the Skills we need to be teaching and things we need to look for in the lessons. Then we played a "river game" where we were broken off into groups again (not the same) and given frisbees. then with those frisbees we had to make it across a "river". It was a lot of fun. My group came in first even though we had like 5 frisbees at the end lol. When 3 out of the 4 groups were done we all ran down to watch the last group. It was so funny. Then we went back inside the lodge where we discussed the committments we'd have to make, the pay we'd make, and the scheduals.

Next saturday afternoon they'll be posting the new employees after two more small group activities. We're gonna be on the snow too if all goes well. =D I'm excited.

The only reason I'm NOT doing snowboarding is because you have to be 16 and I'm only 15. I might get an extra dollar an hour for being a Crossdresser (Crosstrainer) lol. =D

My Blog: mom
By: punkotaku

Right now, I am reading forwards from my mom. Normally I delete forwards without a glance, but the ones my mom sends are always good. I love my mom. Honestly though, I don't think she'll ever know how much I love her. But that's... because of how it was when we lived together. And yet, when I look back now, it seems like the fun times stood out more. Like, when we wanted to watch a movie, we played this game to decide which one. I guess it wasn't really a game, but it was a lot of fun. She'd suggest a movie, then I'd suggest one, and we'd go on until we agreed on one. I don't know what made it so fun... but it was... it was so incredibly fun. But I was such a brat back then... I remember she'd make food once in a while, and even though I liked it I complained and said it was yucky and threw a fit. I used to be so terrible. Well, we both got our wish: we both found people we want to spend the rest of our lives with. I'm not married yet, cuz I'm not old enough and I don't want to rush it. She's married though; I hate the guy, but I am content. They have two little boys, the only siblings I have. I hear people ask how she can stand to be with him, and I know exactly why: my lil bros. They're a handful all right, but they make her happy. Which also makes me happy. Being with my bf really made me realize how much I'm like her. I used to think I was just like my dad; now I know I'm more like my mom. I don't think she knows that... but anyhoo, the point is... I LOVE MY MOM!! ^^

A friend of mine once told me, that love was a sick game that God plays on us in his free time, honestly I'm starting to believe the guy. He does not have this website, but I talk to him on another and at school. He always has been able to make me smile, but other than that a friendship has barelt even close to sparked. I used to believe in love, now it seems, that my trust in all men, has competely faded. I know I always have said those kind of things, and yes this time there is a guy that I'm waiting to make somewhat of a move to ask me out, probably will never happen, but sometimes things are worth a wait in life.
Today, was one of those rough tear filled days, an old "friend" returned, and suddenly everything around me crashed ontop of me instead at my sides like it usually does. I broke down majorly, and if it wasn't for my best friend Amanda, I would still be depressed now. She the best friend I have ever had, I mean she cares about me, like few people really do, and she never hesitates to help me when I need her, if anyone messes with her, I don't care who that person is... I will beat the shi*t out of them.
Along with the rough day, some tiny sparkles of happiness did somehow manage to appear, that guy and I, though unable to talk, discussed a few things this weekend, which of course involved the hard decision of actually dating.
I'm sick of the fakiness of love, and I would do anything to actually know what it feels like again, but it seems once more it will be put on hold. At the moment, things are not great as it is, so I advise anyone who wants to mess with me, to not push me over the edge.... cause this time I doubt I will make the climb back up.
Anyways remember I am here for everyone of you guys, even though few of you are there for me, but anyways I must be going.
Love,
Lil bre
