Go Skateboarding Day '06.... More like GO GET ARRESTED (for no reason) DAY '06. Here in Tampa, FL we all planed on meeting up at the famous Bro Bowl at 11:00 am... skate then head through downtown Tampa to the also famous Big 4 for a Best Trick Contest. so from the Bro Bowl, through the contest at the 4 block was good.  Just imagine 150 skaters deep skating through the streets of downtown Tampa (it has been illegal to skateboard in downtown tampa for ages so it was a pretty good rush) once we got to the 4 block, we had the please of watching about 10 kids hurling themselves down the thing trying to earn around $250... Scott was pulling the no ollie needed death dive down it. No one is sure why. This sick ass kid Matt kept sticking the hardflip buttttt couldn't come away from it. Mike however came away with a front side flip from hell after about 20 tries to come away with $230. At the end of the sesh a security gaurd came and tried to shut us down, you can just imagine how well that worked... Trying to tell 150 skaters to leave, we immediatley boo'd him out of the place and we were off to the turtle ditches.... which was our downfall. When we got there, Rob Meronek and Ryan Clements were pretty much in charge (they are the owners/operators of the INFAMOUS Skatepark Of Tampa ... home of the Tampa AM and the Tampa PRO) we heard some kid saying "DUDE THE COPS FOLLOWED US HERE!" and as soon as we hear that... its followed by 2 patrol cars pulling up... so we all deside to run like crazy people... Ryan and Rob and like 2 others we still standing there... they ended up goin to jail.. but it was all a big joke... like 30 kids got taken to Juvinielle Detention Center. and I headed back down to Bradenton... We decided to hit up some of our favorite spots like palmetto park and Blackburn Elementary with the 2 block manny pad. Threw some steez there. Nollie flip nose manny 180 out, kicky up hardflip nollie backside flip off. and we built an amazing bank wall out of some ply and other scrap material there. after skating for hours on end it was time to head back home. to shower and head to a "Taco Party"... yeah... we just ate taco's at some girls house.. but it was a blast alright... we partied late into the night. I don't think there could have been a better go skateboarding day.

wow...i actually had no idea today was "Go Skateboarding Day"...but it's awsome cuz i really felt like going anyway =D
i just started skating this year...because not being able to shred is driving me INSANE...and i really like it.
anyway...today i finally made it down my driveway and off the curb =D
the boyfriend has been trying to get me to do it...twice now i think...but neway today i did it! and i was so proud...and then i skated up and down the street a couple times and tried to do some manuals which didn't work out so well but whatever...i'll get it eventually! just like nose stalls...i can kinda do that now =D from sheer stubbornness...

skateboarding is so fricken frustrating and awsome and i'm very glad some guy gave me his for free =D

that said...let it snow :)
