I sprained my ankle
earlier this month. Its frustrating. The sunshine is out, everyone is
getting shots, and i'm doing nothing. There is little variation
in how I spend my days. Sleep in, watch some olympics, spend 2 or 3
hours drinking coffee, cook dinner, watch movies and pass out. On
exciting days I hang out with the girls at physio where they zap me
with fancy machines, and use ultrasound to reduce the swelling in my
foot.
I watch people in
the village. The skater kids peddling drugs, locals chugging
beers on the nearby patios, and the weekend wariers stomping down the
village stroll in thier ski boots. I listen to The Scissor Sisters and
imagine everyone is part of a timelapse, as if I am just watching from
an outside perspective. Sometimes friends will grace me with their
presence, and we converse about local happenings. Its now an
American long weekend... maybe I will avoid the village altogether; to
busy for my liking.
I will be back riding soon enough, my condolances go out to anyone who has had to deal with more serious injuries this season.
