In sharing this with you all I feel is blessed to be a part of this.

Like last year

Myself and Dennis Martinez are going to be going into the schools in the Cayman Islands to share this message and then on the 31st May 2008 we will be showing the movie in one of the local Cinemas.

Being in Law Enforcemnet I have had first hand experience seeing people make the wrong decision to get involved in drugs. I have seen families torn appart, people die because of drugs, do time, and suffer illnesses which have lead also to eventuall death.

Dennis Martinez is someone who has lived it at the top earning over $40,000.00US per month in the 1970's, he had alll sponsorships, shoes, boards, cars all the trimmings being the top dog in skating, he then threw it all away for drugs. Imagine he pawned for $500.00US of DOPE his pride and joy his WORLD CUP which he set his eyes on from the age of 12 years old. He lived on the streets saw his freinds die, robbed for a living to also feed his drug habit. He did time in prison; then something changed he now has a life he is a tireless worker for the better. He now pasters to CAT 4 prisoners he shares his experience so others do not make the same mistakes he and others made. I advise all to watch this movie as their are lessons to be learned by all

if you use drugs think about what help is out there seek it and get off it and if you know people do the right thing as a freind help them. THE LIFE YOU SAVE MIGHT BE YOUR OWN.

SkateboardVillage News: A few Questions with Ian Gauthier

Basic info, when and where were you born and where are you residing now?

April 7^th 1988, born and raised in Vars, Ontario (Ottawa) and currently residing in Whistler B.C.

Why Whistler?

We’ll I’ve been snowboarding longer than I’ve been skateboarding and growing up I had always heard how good it was to live in Whistler. I had never planned on moving up here until my good buddy Karl Windle moved up, told me all about the Creekside Skatepark and how I could still skate all winter. After hearing all the good news I moved up for the season last year and now I can’t picture myself being anywhere else during the winters.

How long do you plan to stay in Whistler?

I was planning on coming back every season for the next few years, but now that the Creekside Skatepark might not be here next year I might not be coming back………

When did you start skateboarding?

I started skateboarding in grade 7 just staying after school using all my friends’ boards. Then on my 13^th birthday my family and I were in Victoria, so using all my birthday money I bought some second hand board from a skateshop down there as my first board.

Who do you usually skate with?

Anyone who’s down to skate like ALL the Orleans locals, FOKUS boys, EQ guys, Mitch Barrette, Matt Canadien, and my little brother Nick Gauthier

You recently got hooked up with Annum clothing, what has that been like working with them?

Working with the Annum guys Steve Wilson and Brendan Cavanagh has been sick. I only met them last year and since they’ve put me on their team I’ve become good friends with them. Instead of them just giving me free product like most companies they let me be a part of the company. I’ve been helping with some designs and other business aspects while they’ve been showing me all the tricks of the trade. They’ll be having a bunch of new clothes coming out soon so keep your eyes open for it.

Where have you traveled skating?

This past year was the first year I started taking actual skate trips besides to Montreal.

I was living in Whistler for most of the spring so I skated around there for a bit, and then moved to Port Coquitlam for 2 months. I skated mainly the Poco Park, and didn’t get any filming done the whole time I was in Vancouver. I ended up getting ragged on from all my buddies back home for that. Then moved back to Ottawa and took a trip up to Quebec City, MTL, then me and some buddies took an epic week long road trip down to Austin, Texas.

Favorite skate spot?

The Creekside underground mini bowl.

Got any travel plans for this year?

I want to live in downtown Vancouver for most of the summer, then take a greyhound from Vancouver back to Ottawa, stopping at all the big cities to skate and see some friends, and then a few more trips to the states. Then where ever else I get a chance to go travel and skate.

New Years resolution?

To stop falling on my wrists.

What is up with your wrist, it seems like you have been rocking casts for the last 6+ months?

Yeah about that…….well a few years ago I broke my right hand scaphoid and ended up getting a bone graft from my hip to my wrist along with a cast for 5 months. Then the next year I broke it again, ended up getting another bone graft from my other hip along with a pin and a cast for 4 months. I find out in a few weeks when I’m getting the pin removed. As for my left wrist I found out just over a month ago that I’ve had a small broken bone in there for most of the summer that I didn’t know about. Since I never got it checked out it’s too late to fix it, so now I have a broken bone in that wrist permanently. It sucks sometimes………..

My Blog: J-Peak Instructor Training

So this past weekend I spent 8am-3:30-4 pm at Jiminy Peak taking the hiring training course. I'm going to hopefully be a Skiwee (kids aged 3-6) ski instructor this year at Jiminy Peak. I can't wait.

So to reflect the past 2 days we all met in JJ's. We broke off into little groups and taught the trainer on the spot about something. I taught the group and trainer about the Chicken Dance because it was the only thing I could think of. We learned about the Teaching model/cycle and the Safety model/cycle. After lunch we had a "small group modeling session" where the trainer basically acted like we were all brand new skiiers and gave us a
"model" lesson. It was fun and I bet without it I would of failed completely at getting this job since I haven't skiied since 6th grade. After that we learned and talked about teaching children and youth. We discussed the differences between teaching children and adults.

Today we learned about the Guest Service model. Basically about how Guests are the number one priority and how we should act in our lessons and outside of them when We wear the Jacket. Then we broke off into our groups again and had a different trainer. We had to "teach" the trainer and the group the lesson based on the teaching cycle. (Which is Introduction, Assement, Goals/Achievements, Assement, Present information/show them how to do it, practice, assement/feedback, summary.) After we did that and had lunch we learned about the Skills we need to be teaching and things we need to look for in the lessons. Then we played a "river game" where we were broken off into groups again (not the same) and given frisbees. then with those frisbees we had to make it across a "river". It was a lot of fun. My group came in first even though we had like 5 frisbees at the end lol. When 3 out of the 4 groups were done we all ran down to watch the last group. It was so funny. Then we went back inside the lodge where we discussed the committments we'd have to make, the pay we'd make, and the scheduals.

Next saturday afternoon they'll be posting the new employees after two more small group activities. We're gonna be on the snow too if all goes well. =D I'm excited.

The only reason I'm NOT doing snowboarding is because you have to be 16 and I'm only 15. I might get an extra dollar an hour for being a Crossdresser (Crosstrainer) lol. =D

I’ve already lost what I thought I found.
Even in the dark my tears are seen falling.
I was so close, I was nearly whole again.
My heart, back to the way it was, broken.
Meant to be alone, meant to die just the same.
I’m living life one broken heart at a time.
Then again I should be used to it by now.
It’s not the first time it’s happened you know.
Every girl I’ve ever met has been like this.
They say they like you, they say you’re cute.
But what they really mean is give me your heart.
So I can step all over it with my foot.
Take the already broken parts and break them some more.
It’s black and blue from the pain I’ve gone through.
Hands are cold again, having nothing to hold.
Heart’s cold again, having nothing to feel.
Eyes are cold again, having nothing to dream.
My whole body’s cold again, having nothing to live for.
No one listens to the boy with a broken heart.

My Blog: Song I accidently erased

This song is today that I was at Sunnyside Beach & hearing on about
these wrongs in life to the world that it's so different than what you
remembered last. I saw this girl modeling on the train tracks the
photogrophers didn't look perfessional..They looked fat, while the girl
looked either young or really skinny...nonetheless she was
skinny..& about my beliefs..so just comment on this this is my
proto-type song.. & yea.*07-06-07

My Blog: One Step Closer

On this road walks a teary eyed girl, who has been betrayed once more. This girl she walks longer and longer until her feet finally grow sore. She loved him way deep inside her tattered and torn little heart. But sometimes she wishes her life would have never even come to a start.

As she grows older she learns how much of a hell life can be. But she always wonders"Who would want to hurt someone like me?" She figured she could trust her new friend, FINALLY someone to listen to the story of her pain. But along with this was another betrayal to she was soon to gain.

This girl has constantly searched for someone to hold her tight and close. Someone who loved her to the very most. Finally her tears sunk into the hard cold ground. She is going nowhere, but secretly hopes she is homeward bound.

She keeps on walking, and lets out a loud cry. As she walks she remembers no one will ever be by her side. She still cries for the boy she once called her love. She always wishes she could be free, like a dove.

The most painful day of her life had already come and past. Now she just hopes her current "love" will last. Because if left alone and heartbroken ever again. There will be one less girl that any boy can call their girlfriend.

She closed up once before and shut all who loved her out. She changed into something she wasn’t, that's no doubt. Now she is clueless to why she is even alive. Love, was all she every really did strive.

Left violated, was she on that very clear day. She shut down, pushed the entire world away. She's sick and tired of losing those she holds close inside. No one will ever know how much she has really cried.

Tears every night they land on her soft pillow. But now in the daylight, only anger and pure strength will show. When will someone care enough to help this girl finally smile? She has given up for now; she knows it will be a while.

Does he really love her or was the entire past relationship a game? Now that she has a new boy, how the hell can she still feel the same? She wonders now who she can really trust, maybe him? But one things for sure, she's sick of being known as the ex-girlfriend.

Walking across an old broken and wooden bridge, she lights a match with no concern. She tossed it back without looking back, she finally let the bridge burn. Another rough road she has finally won a battle over. Her final destination, its now one step closer

(yeah its another poem by me, it has relations to my life yes, but you have to read in between the lines so to speak to understand the real meaning...Some of you may take this as...it talking about you...well it does talk about people in this...and they are people among this very site.)

She's experienced love and loved it so very much, he has now returned, a boy whom she cannot touch. Her current "love" different, but could he really be worth it? With both of them there now, where will her heart finalyl sit?
