Have fun in the snow..."

Bring some more chicks if u want to but, let's keep the word for us koz we don't want it to become a guy session. ( u can bring friends, just saying that we want the park to ourselves right?, haha! sucks to be a guy... haha). So give me news ladies, and see ya there!!!

Sign the online petition at www.saveorkus.com and send this e-mail to other skateboarders, family and friends so they do the same.  URGENT!

Petition to save Orkus (skatepark), an initiative from Orkus users

To all Montreal municipal elected officials,

We are Montreal skateboarders, inline skaters and bmx amateurs, sympathizers, parents or are issued from the industry.  We are the most interested in regard to the best indoor skatepark solution for Montreal.  We hereby want to strongly support Orkus skatepark, a park created for skateboarders by skateboarders.  We are asking you to help Orkus.  Presently, the city is at the midst of giving away 2,5 million dollars (besides a few more millions coming the provincial and federal governments) to the Taz project.  There is no doubt that the financial help required to keep Orkus open, is by far inferior to the amount of money asked by the Taz.  Therefore, for the sake of Montreal’s skateboarders and Montreal taxpayers, we are asking you to help our skatepark (Orkus) instead of pursuing in supporting the Taz.

With 400 000$ (the amount given in 2006 to develop Le Taz), the city could have financed more than the construction of a huge skatepark.  Too complex will you say?  Agree, the city could have offered free sessions for all Montreal skaters and other users of its installations for at least a year (if not more) in an already existing skatepark.  We are sorry to let you know that the investments done up to this day have not been used efficiently (as Le Taz project goes forward, serious doubts exist concerning its management) and that is why we are contacting you.  Fortunately, it is not too late for the city to correct the problem.  It is time that things change and that our youth have the services for which Montreal taxpayers are contributing.

Why not help an already existing organisation instead of developping something (Le Taz) that already exists in Montreal (the only indoor skatepark, Orkus of course)?

Respectfully yours,

Summer's almost over. Wow it was wild though.
Since May i've hit up Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
If you ever get a chance, montreal is the most unreal place to skate. Good scene, good spots, bars with mini-ramps, crazy french kids who scream "TABARNAC!" when they don't land their shi*t. And a rediculously awesome female skateboarding scene. There's comps every week...sometimes every day..sometimes 2 in a day...demos...and you run into all sorts of people downtown..Orkus indoor and south parc indoor...skate bars that play vids while you drink the night away...restaurants that give you "the skater deal". Let's not forget Big-O. It's something else. Toronto's pretty gangster...really fun spots if you can outsmart the porks for a bit, gay festivals, the CBC manny pad. I only experienced it for 3 days so I don't know enough, but it was a blast. Ottawa was fun minus sleeping on the streets for 2 nights due to evil money hungry cell phone companies who steal your hotel money. Lots of talent out there, and you can skate spots for hours without getting kicked out, or at least we didn't get kicked out of any when we were out there. Lots of fun ledges, especially by the hobo bridge there's a gooder, but really fun spots everywhere nonetheless. Calgary locs keep it gangst. Edmonton has lots of emos. Grande Prairie has no spots, a shi*tty park if you're a beginner, but a good scene and super tight shops (dark flavour downtown and southside). But yeah fun aint over yet. Philippines in a month and then who knows. Long beach? Vancouver? Victoria? Kelowna? Probly keep it west for a change. anyways hope to see you all somewhere. peace
