     Answer in Blood
When I think I want to die
I sit up in my room and cry
I grab my knife and start to fly
Blood will set me free.
A whisper of metel across my wrists
pain I never thought I wold miss
I curl my hand into a fist
Blood will make me see
A welling red, it's so devine
sending shivers up and down my spine
revenge will come in due time
Blood will be my key
If only you will stop and see
Just how bad I'd like to flee
Maybe you could be the key
   Blood will release me

CORE Action Takes on the Action Sports Community

Grapevine, Texas (November 21, 2008)--CORE Action has entered full-steam into the action sports social culture. Having completed its beta-stage the CORE Action website has launched revealing its edgy, gritty look and first-rate content. At the heart of COREaction.com is the Nation, an action sports community that provides a forum for enthusiasts of all ages to communicate, share and express themselves through the sports they love.

CORE Action also provides its viewers with day-to-day coverage of what's happening in the action sports world--skateboarding, snow sports, surfing, motocross, BMX and water sports are all covered highlighting the best news, events, photos and videos from each discipline. CORE also informs and entertains users with in-house video coverage, featuring one-on-one interviews with top-pros, hot on the scene action from local and national events and short entertaining vignettes to get the adrenaline pumping.

While CORE reports on what's going on in the pro scene, our real ambition is to provide a forum for the young and up-and-coming athletes to get their story out and let themselves be known. Gone are the days of sending in "sponsor-me" tapes to companies in desperate and often futile attempts to get noticed. With CORE, the athlete can log-on to the Nation and post a bio, videos and photos in an effort to promote themselves within the community. CORE's main objective is to support the sport's underdogs and amateurs and to forge lasting partnerships within our member network as we grow into the future.

"Not only do we provide up-to-date original content, but we do it in a safe environment where kids are protected and can be among their peers." Kent Holcomb, President of CORE Action explains, "We closely follow the COPPA laws which protect underage kids from predators and mature content."

Nick Moscia CORE Action Marketing Director agrees, "We're all about reaching out to the action sports community. For us, it's about the kids. This is a place where they can hang out, chat with friends and check out the latest videos, news and events."

The CORE staff comes from within the action sports culture--skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, BMX and motocross. From the slopes of the Rocky Mountains to waves of Cocoa Beach, Florida, the CORE crew are embedded in their prospective scenes. Preserving the culture and empowering riders to enjoy their sports and to reach full potential is our objective at CORE Action.

CORE Philosophy--Within every discipline of action sports lay a CORE group of people. They are the ones pushing the boundaries and limits on a daily basis. CORE riders raise the bar and create new standards for the rest to follow. They are the epicenter of the Industry and help keep our Culture alive and thriving. These devoted folks eat, drink and sleep the sport which they are true to and willingly make sacrifices to keep the ride going. Living a CORE lifestyle defines these individuals and establishes a place for them in this world...

CORE Action was founded in 2007 and is an internet-based action sports community which specializes in social networking and providing premium action sports related content. For more information go to www.COREaction.com.

Jesus Fernandez, JB Gillet, Mikemo Capaldi, Torey Pudwill, Danny Brady, Marty Murawski, Mike Anderson, Lem Villemin and Vivien Feil experienced the “Grey Daze” Germany had to offer us on the recent Matix trip. The team started off at the Bright Tradeshow in Frankfurt where Mo had a release party for his upcoming signature Asher. Kids lined up to meet the Mo and get a free LTD Mo tee, given to them by Mo himself.

Saturday July 11th the team threw their signatures down on a stack of posters during their signing at Railslide Skateshop, while sipping black coffee. (The Railslide bro’s brewed up at their in-store coffee shop.) After three days in Frankfurt, burned out on tradeshow craze and the few cases of Becks the team had gone through, they packed their bags, crowded into a Euro-size rental van (which was small) and trekked to Berlin.

During their five-day stay in Berlin—no bank was left un-skated, no marble was left un-grinded and no beer was left un-opened. When you’re skating the most unique spots Berlin has to offer with some of our most talented Matix riders, you get a lot of stuff done. From a Titus “Zoopreme” store signing and a load of filming to shooting for a Monster Magazine article the 8-day stay has produced some good coverage available in the near future.

Click Here to check out Tony E's Flick'r account for some photos from the trip.

Look for an upcoming Matix Podcast, as well as a feature on FUEL TV’s “The Daily Habit” coming soon. Keep an eye on www.matixclothing.com and FUEL TV for more on “Grey Daze In Deutschland”.

1.what is the g.u.s.t.? the girls united skate team or g.u.s.t for short is the first and only female skateboarding company to ever hit maryland!

2. what is the g.u.s.t about? the g.u.s.t. is about bringing the female skateboarding scene together and closer and to spread the awareness that we are out there and we rule and we will not be taken lightly!

3. is this just a skate crew? no this is a full blown skateboard company!

4. do you have products?  we have a spring product line  with 2 shirt graphics and various colors to choose from with the price of $17.99 plus five dollars shipping anywhere in the united states! and we also have stickers that are 8.5 inches long and sell for $1.50 each!

5. how did you get involved in the female skate scene? this is a funny story...i was playing tony hawk's pro skater 1 and the first person i beat it with was elissa steamer and i got really stoked and that started to get me involved into female skateboarders and thus i been helping out the scene ever since and in '06 i decided that the female skateboarding scene needed a new real company that promotes their girl riders unlike other companies who do not promote their female riders...my work began in 01 when i started to help with xgirlsport.com(online female skateboarding zine that is now defunct) and after the owner moved to spain i was dissapointed cause i was really stoked and wanted to keep it going and i felt empty so i decided this should fill the void!

6. why distinguish female skaters as female skaters and not just skaters? good question! as i see no gender since i am a feminist i believe that girls in general do not get the credit they deserve and it is just the same as saying hey look at that purple smurf walking down the street. it is just a way to describe someone no disrespect intended it is just a adjective.

7.what does the girls united skate team co make? right now shirts which cost $17.99 with five dollars shipping and stickers that cost $1.50 SO BUY BUY BUY!

8.can i be sponsored by your company? u can but rather i let u on is a different story haha with this team even though it is based in dundalk, maryland i have riders from other states because i want to expand the movement to the four corners of the united states and inbetween i am ALWAYS on the look out for girls from maryland which is my main focus! i really want to build up a team of md girls which is hard to do since there are not many here that skate! but i do not have a problem with sponsoring ppl out of state.

9.how do i get sponsored? u can get on by making sure u are one of those skaters who are constantly pushing urself to the limits and progressing every single time u go out and having a positive attitude and no negativity,u must also be able to skate all terrain I DO NOT ACCEPT GIRLS WHO ONLY SKATE ONE THING! i demand that my riders be able to skate everything which means but not limited to ditches, rails, steps, ledges, mini ramp, banks, ski jumps, flat ground and so on! if u dont understand what i mean take a look at the skating of vanessa torres, elissa steamer, jamie reyes, lauren mollica, monica shaw etc etc AND I ALSO EXPECT FOR U TO REPRESENT AT CONTESTS,LOCAL SKATESPOTS,MYSPACE AND EVERYWHERE ELSE U GO the more u promote ur sponsor the better things will be for u product wise and the better the mood u put me in!.also a video of some sort helps as well! pics will not be good enough. i expect a classic sponsor me vid rather it be vhs or dvd i cant accept any other formats but those 2 and u must film once in awhile and take photos! traveling is not neccessary but it helps both me and u in the long run!

10. what do i get when im on? u get whatever we make! however dont expect to be getting 20 or 30 shirts a month cause that is just impossible cause i must also sell shirts as well so be thankful for what u get!

11. what is the policy with flowing riders? i dont believe in flow!

12. what can i do to help spread the word of the g.u.s.t. movement? u can spraypaint a logo somewhere,or use stickers, write the g.u.s.t. on ur board, word of mouth, use our banners which can be found on our website at gustmd.tripod.com there are plenty of choices for everyone we will also put ur support on our website! if u got it on ur board or spraypainted it somewhere or got stickers or wearing the shirts WE WANT TO SEE and they will be on our website at gustmd.tripod.com!

13.where are your products made? in the good ole u.s.a ON THE EAST COAST!!!. i dont outsource stuff like alot of skate companies cause outsourcing means stuff is made overseas and sent here and is lower quality (crap) (like shoes and pencils for example) i believe in keeping products american made and so does the i.a.s.c. which i strongly believe in!

14. i am a major skateboard company and am interested in carrying your product or sponsoring one of your riders! get at me and we will talk business!

15.will i be in videos and/or mags? there is nothing in this world but possibilities

16.why do u not accept add requests from guys, bands,or non full skate companies? because i talk to guys all day long and most of them i have on other accounts and girl skateboarders is my target audience and the market im into...and no i am not sexist or an a**hole this is not about bands it is about strict skateboarding and nothing more and nothing less! so only girl skateboarders and skate companies will be on here! i run a tight ship!

17. do you have any riders? yes we do! we have three 3 riders named "styles" from md,amelia from az and jasmine from md!

18.do i have to jump down 50 stairs or so to get on the team? no however if u want to see what kind of talent im looking for just look at the vvc vid getting nowhere faster or AKA: GIRL SKATER to get a good idea of what i want!

19. will the g.u.s.t. skate co ever make a video? haha well im not going to rule it out but there is sooooooooo much f*cking work to get a video made such as getting footage from riders, then editing (the worse part of all),and getting the dvds pressed and stuff so i dont know but it could happen in the future u will just have to wait it out and see! it would be rad though!

20. what is the story with boards and wheels etc? well boards are a good possibility i been recently looking at manufacturing companies of course before boards come out we would have to do some r&d with them before they get released to the public! and as for wheels i have recently (as of 8-14-07) checked into them  but im pretty f*cking picky about wheels so alot of r&d would go into them and i only get american made shi*t. pretty good chance that what u have under ur feet is chinese made and im not down for that lower quality bullshi*t!id rather spend alot of money on quality products then spend less money and have ppl come back to me and tell me my shi*t sucks! i want to do the best i can to provide the best quality stuff! it isnt easy having a skate company but u can probably expect wheels for all terrain! and will come in colors! expect to possibly see gust boards and wheels in our 2008 line! if u want to see a mock up of our boards and wheels check out our photo section in the first folder!

21. can i link your website/myspace on my site/myspace? duh of course u can! feel free to plaster that shi*t anywhere and everywhere! just let us know!

22. is there a set trick list to get sponsored? NO! just be a good well rounded skateboarder like u see in vids as i said before good transition skills (grinds to fakie, fliptricks to fakie, properly done grabs (no floating..good popped ollie grabs)and stalls like blunts and disasters and flip tricks to stalls and/or grinds, flip tricks and stuff down stairs (5 steps and above) and tech tricks on ledges, tricks on banks such as fliptricks to fakie and shi*t like that! i dont think i can be anymore obvious if u have watched any skate vids at all then u should know what a good skater is!

23. i live in so so and there arent really any comps here? ny,md,fla,ca,pa are the biggest places for comps u should go out and travel to contests cause it helps u get recongized and gets your's and our names out there and ppl will want to buy our shi*t if u do good!

24.where can i send my video? u can send your video to either our myspace inbox or to our office in maryland it is your choice!

25. i already have a certain sponsor (i.e. clothing, board, wheels, etc)? well this is kind of tricky regardless u will get our shirts and stickers but if u have a board sponsor or wheel sponsor then that means u wont get wheels or boards from us unless u quit ur current board/wheel sponsor! it is just the way things go! sorry....

26. is there a age limit to skate for the company? no!

Q and A with Bruce Treby

20 Questions with Bruce Treby

Questions Asked By Vaughn Whynot

Answers by Bruce Treby

Photos by Scott McClellan

State Your Name, Age & current Location you are at?

Bruce Treby, 21, and I live in Little Harbour, NS

How’s she going?

Things are going great! I’m healthy, back in school and skating as much as I can when the weather is good. It’s been raining for almost a month straight now.

So Bruce when you were a kid, what made you start skaten?

I started skating when I was in grade 7 cause I seen a few older guys doing it and it looked fun. I tried it once and was hooked!

Who did you look up to when growing up (pros, People)?

I mostly looked up to the local guys but for pros I really like Deawon Song and Jamie Thomas

So who are your sponsors these days…and how did this happen, where you a video-tape kid or did they find you?

I ride for Homegrown Skateboards and Ipath Footwear.  Homegrown just kinda found me and I got hooked up with Ipath after “The Burning Whale Project” was released.

It must have been fun filming parts for the Homegrown Video. Do you have an interesting story from the whole time filming?

Yeah, I had a great time filming. I’d say the most interesting story from the whole thing is that I was working 6 days a week and filming only after work and on Sundays. It made it interesting, especially when we had to drive a few hours to some spots. All in all it was a great time!

Hey Treby, do you mind me calling you Treby; do you have any hobbies besides skating?

Everyone calls me Treby, even my girlfriend does too! When I’m not skating I’m usually snowboarding or causing trouble for someone.

What are you views on the harassment skater get from, police, bikers/bladders and local mouths? Have you ever encountered arguments or fight because of being a skater?

I’m so sick of getting razzed and harassed by the police and other “authority figures”. I mean sure their doing a job but this whole helmet law thing has gone too far. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been kicked out of spots as soon as I roll up. I haven’t gotten in a fight but there have been some close calls.

Do you still believe skaten is about roots or is it something else these days?

I like to think skating is about roots but every little kid always asks who you’re sponsored by or if you’re pro or am and how could they get sponsored. I think a lot of kids are skating for the wrong reasons these days.

So anything coming up these days with you (mags, videos, new product) or you keeping low?

I’ve been keeping it pretty low key this year. It was a pretty rough one for injuries.

I saw that footy of your bail….your a real trooper for getting back into the scene, I also heard you where more worried for your tattoo then your body, what was you thinking?

That was a rough little patch for me but I’m good to go now. Yeah I didn’t realize how serious it was until after the surgery but your right. I was worried bout my tattoo. I went back to the rail and cut the kink off to keep it for a trophy and decided to try it again and slammed on my face. Lost a tooth and knocked myself clean out. I didn’t know who anyone was or what happened for a good 10 or 15 minutes. Needless to say I’m not going back…lol

Here are a few simple questions, Fav AM this year?

Ryan Decenzo

Fav Pro?

Jereme Rogers, He’s so well rounded on everything.

Last Skate Video you watched?

DVS skate more

Last Mag you read or book?

I haven’t had time for anything but school work….

Biggest Fear?

Not scared anymore. I already lost a tooth skating…might get one for Christmas though!

Trick you’re stoked on? Trick your trying to get down?

Pretty much anything on a rail. And I’ve been trying to get tre flips…..

Saying over used?

Do you think Skate Style is Important, and is this g-unit and/or emo getting out of hand?

Thanks for your time…hope to see you kick'in around the area around here. Any last words or props for anyone? P.S. Did you see the Hali-Park, She’s looking sexy.

Thanks to Jesse at Homegrown, Shayne and Mike at S & J for the Ipath gear, Brad Macdonald, Travis Francis, Scott Maclellan and everyone else I’ve forgotten you know who you are.

Hello, we are Change Skateboards (Jeff Rae and James Denomme), created on a cold Windsor evening in the winter of 03. It was originally based out of there, but these days we’re up in Toronto. The goal we started with, and still really push for, is to do something different with skateboards on a local level. That’s pretty much the reason for the move up here, to really get to know people and the local shops.

Promo trailer for the upcoming Change film "Fireworks, Dancing and Cartwheels.

Both of us strongly believe in North American made decks and wheels, for quality and political goodness. We also try to promote awareness of this and other issues. For example, we are releasing a board series soon focused solely on tree replanting to keep the North American woods and environment booming.

As for this summer, our main focus is on “Fireworks, Dancing, and Cartwheels” (our first full video, not just a random selection of exciting activities). The release should be by late August, with promo parties in select cities (Toronto, Detroit, Windsor, Thunder Bay). Parts from all of our team riders will be featured, as well as clips from many of the friends we’ve met along the way. This summer will also mark our 4th year in business, and our 3rd annual Game of Skate Tour (keep your ears open). Last year in the Toronto tour stop at Adrift was great, and we’re pushing for a bigger turn out this year.

The plan… We want to keep it going. There’s still tons to learn and we’re always looking to build on the success we’ve been able to grab hold of so far. Our main priorities are really simple; keep this fun, push it as far as possible, meeting new people, and of course skating.

The Change team is Jesse Tessier, Hill Sulpher, Jesse Nymsel, Mitch Pryma, Dallas Ives, Kelley Hice, Chris Quick (film), and Dave Todon (photos).

Many inmates have grown up without their father. Does that make us what we are? Is that the reaso?
At age two my mother dropped me off at my grandmother's and went to the grocery store... never to return... but did she die? No, but my love for her easily died away...
That man who left my mother, brother and sister-to-come, to better our lives by joining the army, never returned. That man, instead of returning, made his roots as a drug dealer after going AWOL from the army. That man took us away from my loving grandmother at age six. Was this my father's resurrection? Did it bring me joy?
That man beat me since i was six...
That man took his sons and daughter's money to pay off his drug dept...
That man kicked me out whe i hit fourteen...
That man still grows his money in my closet...
That man locked me in my room seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, grade... no TV, no radio - just my thoughts. With each crack of his fists, each kick, he took my heart out of my young chest, but it still beats in the palms of his hands. i may not have a heart... but it still beats... i never struck back... did he care? My pain expresses his love... I've been released... that man won't get me
... I sold drugs but never cheated anyone, I still live the streets, he may have created me, but I am still here, he will not destroy me.. I will destroy me.
That man... who is that man? My father without a heart (which still beats in his hand)... I still love that man...that man...my father,
Cry for that...
Why do they call me 100 Namez-
'cause my father used 100 names for me

The party got started a little late and for those of you who didn't know.  We were planning on renting out the whole outskirt side of the skatepark and throw our party there. But soon to our dismay, the city told us just 1 week before that we couldn't unless we provided $1000000 proof of liabilty insurance for the event! Come to find out it would cost us average $600 us dollars to do that!

So we went around it. The party had been put off long enough, we weren't going to cancel it. So we held it in the parking lot out of the back of a trunk! haha It was the most ghetto thing we have ever done. With an unbrella sticking out of our trunk giving away free swag and cranking music all day! It wasn't so bad.

We had over 150 skaters show up over the day. Celebrating the new release of the Scoff website, skating, and slapping stickers all over their boards. We were giving away free swag ever hour also! Inlcuding magazines, stickers, shades, gatorade (it was 86 degrees outside), water, key chains, shirts, skatelaces and more!!

Scoffman and one of the party goers

We had kids doing all sorts of things like sticker slap the ice cream truck without getting caught!

Then some kids who weren't so sly tryed to slap to many on and got caught by the ice cream man. Not good. After a few hours of handing out all that free swag and chilling with our local scene, we brought out the tv and played videos for a few hrs. It was like kindergarden all over again. All the kids instanly sat down in rows before the telavision in silence as we played all sorts of skate dvds.

Near the end we had an un announced competition. A progressive trick contest off the 8 stair. We had 4 entries. The game goes like this, each person gets 10 tries. You have to do the tricks on the list, after you complete one within the 10 tries you step up and go to a more difficult trick. Here was the list Ollie, 180 (either way), kickflip, heelflip. Matt one of the competing skaters injured his ankle doing the 180 and called out. Andy got stuck on trying to land the 180, he almost got it but his rotations were full. Christian and a kid nicknamede Momo, made it past and both got stuck on the heelflip.
So we changed it up and set up a new list, Treflip and if you got that then you had your pick of either doing a switch kick or a manual to ollie over the stairs. Christian landed the treflip on his 3rd try, Momo got stuck and could get it under his feet. So Christian won!

At the end of the day, everyone was tired and ready to hit the hay. We had a blast and know the people that came did also. If you haven't already make sure to check out the new Scoff website at www.scoffskateboarding.com Its new its fresh, it will keep you up to beat on Scoff Skatebaording and everything about us.

Thanks to the kid with the camrea who took all the photos. We appreciate it!
At the end of the day
