With all this negative ranting and raving and complaining, the world seems to be a dark and dismal place. When someone thinks of politics, do good thoughts come to mind? No, not usually. People associate the idea of politics with corruption, greed, and old bald men screwing people. My question to you is: do you think we are living in good times or bad times? Is the future bright or dim? Are we on the verge of a great cultural revolution or the edge of a great fall of civilization?

mmm, i think this is a hard question to answer. i think that we are a little balanced in the "good" and "bad" department, people just like to point out the bad more than the good. the only thing, however, that i believe will really create a downfall in civilization is if we keep budding into other countries buisness and keep creating weapons of mass destruction (and im not just talking about the united states) ... oh, and i just couldnt refrain from this... politics- (p-aw-ly-t-ics) "poly" meaning "many" "ticks" meaning "blood sucking creatures"

That's weird, yesterday I replied with another big long page. Now it seems to be missing. Darn, and I didn't save it this time. Oh well, my main point was that it's getting worse and better at the same time. Alternative media, in particular the internet, documentaries and the odd good song magazine or book will help turn things around, but it's individuals, especially active and voting individuals are what it will take to lighten up this hell we're in. Too tired today to write any more, maybe some other time. Oh, but here's a quickie.... We need better teachers and schools....how 'bout a protest school where you learn how to fight for your rights in the most efficient way possible. Hmmmm, just a thought. Oh and let's focus on the kids since they're really are the future, not adults. The adults and just too far gone to reach now. Let them die off slowly and stop them from corrupting our kids. When don't need any more rehashed wackos! Learn from history, it SHOULD be the most interesting subject in school but of course it's made not to be for good reason. It can potentially expose the crooks of today. Cheers, later V. PS "Watching the rain" The longer you sit on your arse, the worse the world gets. Try DOING something, it's a lot more interesting than watching, trust me. Don't know WHAT to do, just ask me. I'll share with you a few ideas I have kicking around. Learn!... Organize!... Take Action!

It's what you make of it. If you constantly believe that life is shit, it will be. If you think it's great, it will be. There needs to be acceptance in the fact that nothing in this world is perfect, political or not. Once that is accepted the "bad" is much easier to deal with because you know there's always going to be something better to come along. I don't know if that really makes sensem, but whatever.

it doesnt matter what you think of it, because no matter where there is good, there is going to be bad. no matter where there is bad, there is still good. it's called balance. everything has an anti. you cant have one without the other. and thats the way i like it.

How do you differentiate between "good" and "bad"? There's definitely "good" things going on like empowerment of countries like Iraq.  There is more awareness of the atrocities going on around the world and so long as that awareness is still there positive things may come of it.  And while many of the processes that lead to such empowerment and awareness may in and of themselves be "bad", the outcome, I think, in some ways justifies the "bad"...if that makes sense. I think over all the world is on the verge of great things, but because there are so many distractions in the form of "bad" things it's increasingly more difficult to see past it all.  If everyone were to loose faith in humanity and the forseight to truly see that all is not lost, not really close, then there'd be no one to ensure that such great things come to fruition.

only you can deprive yourself of peace of mind, its not something thats hard to find, its synthesized in acceptance. I am lucky to be from canada, and I feel free in my own mind to think my own thoughts and have my own opinions and be able to speak them but a lot of people from other countrys arent so lucky and can not have those opinions heard. They live in fear... Our world is most definetely currupted and not about to get very much better. we are eternally f--u--c---k---e--d because of greed and power but that is the system. In my opinion we can only try and help others and that will give our tiny little lives all the more meaning. what are we if we are all about ourselves... we are a single person amongst billions of other faces, but what are we if we feel empathy for those suffering around us? we are part of the bigger picture, we are one universal mind, intertwined. although pollitics and media and just people in general are increadibly manipulative..your mind is yours and you can open it up and be real amongst the chaos.
