Well it all depends what your budget is?
$500, $1000, or $3000+.

Are you new to filming? What will you be doing with the video, Will you be editing it or would you just want to watch it raw?

Do you want something small and portable or something sturdy with prfofessional quality?

go to a camera shop and buy a digital8 they are fine. night footy sucks on it, but thats not the point. get a wideangle lens and your set under a grand.
go to ebay and get a vx2100 and your set for life.

yea but vx2100's can be expensive to a beginner.. you should get a Panasonic pvgs 250 as ur cam, theyre pretty cheap on ebay and take baby deaths... they also get great colors and i think itd be perfect :)

ive got ona those smaller panasonic 3chips, a gspv somethin r whaeva and its dopppee dude, the shots come out really good if you know how to use it right, i manually set my whitebalance and shutter speeds and it shoots sooo good on sunny days, i think they go for somethin like 700?? but theres a few different levels of them, basially you want a 3chip bottom line.

I'm lookin for something pretty cheap. Not much to work with... around 600 maybe. I've been filming/editing movies with my friends for a while now but they aren't any big production. i'm ready to step up and do a real skate film. It'll probably be a while before i get this just thought i'd scope it out ahead of time.

Also I need a good program to work with it in. It pretty much sucks to still be using little windows movie maker. So what do you use?
