Well, which do you prefer? apple computers or microsof OS based computers. I do not currently own an apple, but my dad does and i have to say that they are absolutely sick. no probs, easy to use, stunning graphics...all the goodies so for me, apple all the way. its going to be my next comp.

Apples are cool except it took them forever to bring out. GASP* the 2 button mouse.

^ya, i always wondered about that. but it seems that it did fine without the 2 button mouse.

It's technically always been a two button mouse, because there's a button on the keyboard that makes it like a "right-click" But the reason I love mine so much, is how everything flows together so well. It's so smooth, everything works perfectly, and there's so many wicked, user-friendly features for it. Plus the fact that mine's a 20-inch flatscreen monitor helps with my love of it too ;)

^oh, well than that solves the 2 button mouse issue. but ya, a G5 and a 20 incher cinema display must have been huge bucks. did u do any RAM or VGA upgrades to it? what do you do with all that power anyways? CAD work? music?

Yeah, that's what my iMac is...minus the webcam. And I got all the full upgrades. 2gb RAM...the works. As for what I do with it....I run Final Cut, and I edit videos, and I also am recording my band/bands with it, and mixing it all. Everything I got with it set me back about 3,500 dollars Canadian.

i gots a mac mini. im totally sold on macs. theres never a problem with them, theyre totally radical in every way possible. the OS is much easier to use. EVERYTHING is a drag and drop! also, i have a two button mouse with a scroll wheel, it was cheaper to buy then the regular apple mouse with only the one button. its third party mind you, but who really cares about that??

Oh, it makes a world of difference. Especially with video editing/caching video/song editing. It's definately worth the extra money if you're planning on using it for the same thing I do.

i used to think the same thing, authority. however, with the lates Apple OS, you can access any windows file or use almost any program without even having to buy Virtual PC. and even if u dont have the latest OS, Virtual PC always works. Compatibility isnt really a problem anymore folks..wake up and smell the wonderful coffee, and ok, i guess for Video Editing, large amounts of Ram are important. but for normal day to day applications, i dont think it makes too big of a difference...especially not in gaming..yet.

solitaire is for babies. Free Cell is for real men sir. and Word does suck. I actually prefer Apple's comperable product. and btw, the new OS pachages include a stock paint program.

web browsing? what do you use, Internet Explorer? you can use that on an Apple. every browser on a PC you can use on a MAC. you should know that. web browsing on a MAC is one of the best things about it. its so damn secure...dont even have to worry about all those annoying Virueses..as much anyways.

My goodness, no one has even bothered to mention Linux here. You can use all browsers on a Mac that you can on a PC, can you? I can tell you one thing, let's see a relatively new user use Konqueror on Mac OS without eating your procesor whilst simultaneously running Quartz/Aqua and an X server with KDE 3.3 =P They have to set it up themsleves too. You have to have had quite some experience before you learn how to do that ^^ But I love Macs. However, I'll be honest. I'm a Linux guy.

Mac for multimedia stuff except games. Mircosoft works better with games.
