ive often found myself mispronouncing certain skateboard, snowboard.. companies.
i know other people have too.

so im making this topic to discuss these companies and ask you, do you have any questions on how to pronounce the name of a company? i might not be able to answer all your questions, but somebody might.

please dont correct someone without being 100% sure you are right.

100% sure... RVCA clothing, ive heard this name pronounced "r.v.c.a" "revkuhh" "revsahh" "and reversahh" in actuality it is pronounced "ruckuhh" (like "truck-uh" without the "t") the V is taken from greek which makes a "uh" sound.

GNU, im pretty sure its pronounced "guhnoo" however theres an animal with the same name which is pronounced "new"
a lot of people also say it as "g.n.u."

Adio. is it "audio" or more like "ah-dio" or "Add-io"?

Lakai, im almost 100% sure its pronounced "luh-k[eye]"


Es shoes, is it "S" or "E's"

RVCA im pretty sure is "REWCA"

GNU - I thought was "NEW"

and Es is "S" im pretty sure it explains that on the es website in the faq.

no, RVCA is pronounced "Ruhka" ive spoken to representatives of the company. thats how it is.

is canada its E S just the letters...everyone here says it that way if they wanted it "S" it would of been called S shoes but everyone else is pretty sure correct anyone remember yetti that was a where company

im pretty sure its not "E S" the actual spelling of the name is éS   the "e" with that accent is ussuallly pronounced like "jet"

if your even closed to being right it would it would be "é.s." and that wouldnt sound right at all.

I had an awsome Dakine beanie untill i lost it a few months back.  I've heard so many people that have never heard of the brand say different things.

 Ok this might help maybe not but when I think of ES I think of spanish es is pronounced "S" so when your in a pickle and can't remember how to pronounce it just think of good old spanish!! and there you go!!

People are dumb.  Not you Dirty_Dan, that was a thoughtful question.  But just half of the replies.. people can't read words correctly or something?  It's "S" like the letter.  Nixon, is "nicksin".  "RVCA" is up to you, I've never even been interested in their products to talk about them.
