Just got back into skating after an 8 year layoff.  Picked up a new deck and threw it on some old 129 indy lows with 4mm risers.  A bunch of kids at the park are riding mids.  Any benefits of mids over lows?  not using risers vx using them?  I'm buying some new trucks and wheels this week so any suggestions on brand size and so on would be welcome too.

hmmm don't worry what the other kids are using
thats not what skateboarding was meant to be
i don't use risers
my friends do
risers are meant for cushioning landings (slows pressure cracks) and raises your trucks alittle off your deck to help ollies
lows are just trucks lower to the ground
with helps with ollies
like getting over things
mids are just in the middles

it all depends on what kind of skating you are doing. lows are good for street skating and highs are good for vert since you need big wheels. Mids are good for combination and if your just starting.
