Thats what I used to do .. so read carefully. Your not flicking properly, I don't care if u think u know what ur doing, cuz u don't, u have a disease .. I to once had this chronic illness, we can call it .. kickdown syndrome. What u need to do is really think hard about what your trying to do. Your probablly doing the whole thing as one quick motion, barely popping the board, and literally kicking the board downward with your toe. This does still make the board spin, but your never EVER going to land it like that. I know this because I tried for probablly 3 years. So heres what u do. before u even think flipping the board, u need to pop a nice ollie. After you've popped with your back foot, u want to start sliding your front foot, just like a regular ollie. As your toe gets further up the board you need to FLICK it right at the concave pocket, not kick, flick ... it should really be called a flick flip. It's all in the ankle motion, your not doing anything with your knee or leg, your just flicking your foot like you would shake your wrist. When you kick your foot down your causing it to hit the ground, and thats just the forces of gravity. But when you flick your foot, its going forward, not downward, so your board spins, and your front foot is still in the air !!!! once it completes the rotation, catch that ma facka and land it. I hope u understand what im saying ... cuz it honestly took me yeeeaaarrs to get it, and I felt like the biggest retard once I landed it. so ye, I hope this helped a few people.

ok whenver i do my kickflips, i get the flip just right or a little too much.  It's just landing on the board that i have trouble with. i always seem to land behinf the board with my feet pretty clost together. So far, ive only landed two but ive landed upright.

I can easily do both kickflips and heelflips no problem and I personally like the heelflip a lot better.  The thing about the heelflip thats so cool is that your foot doesn't have to be almost off the board so you can easily bring it back on top of board to land it.  This is why I do heelflip grind combos because you land on your board quicker to hit the rail.

yeah i agree with him, heelflips you can catch 100 times higher then kickflips, i learned a heelflip before a kickflip!
hey can you help me learn how to bert slide ?

hey kanchive, this is kody and i am here to teach you how to heelflip so pay attention.
Foot Position: Your backfoot on the tail and your front foot a little below the bolts with your foot almost on the board with your toes hanging off.
How to Flip: ollie, then soon as the board come up off the ground, slide your front foot up, of the nose diagonally to flip.
Mistakes: when you are flipping, make sure your are flipping just flick your front foot because if you throw your whole body, you'll end up landing in front of the board instead of landing over it.
THAT'S HOW YOU DO A HEELFLIP.

P.S. if you still can't get it, message me back and let me know and get back with your variations.
peace.
Kody

your not really flicking it
your kick downwards
alot of people tend ot flick their foot out ward but try to flick your foot downwards
and keep trying different locations on the board until your get the feel on how hard you should flick
