well according to Christains, you are Satanic...thats just according to their beliefs. people stereotype people who generally stereotype themselves. If you dress like an emo, or have a million damn piercings, people are going associate you with rock-oriented cultures. thats just how it goes. nobody is going to really sit there and think, "oh my, i wonder if she really isnt a goth? i know she looks like other known-goths, but perhaps thats not what's in her heart". Of course people dont do that, it takes too much time and we are naturally lazy. If you saw some kid walk down w/ Banana Republic jeans and a Ralph Lauren polo, wouldnt you assume that he is a prep? if you were to check out someone's music list and see that all of their music is Black Metal, you would probly assume they are into the whole rock scene and thus dress accordingly. if you dont want to get stereotyped, dont dress like a certain group, dont act like a certain group, dont listen to one type of music. BUT, its ok to be a part of a group..if thats what you like, than go for it. Act like a goth or an emo. Wear that type of clothing. Just be prepared to be stereotyped..

Heres a hint. Dont emulate your the genres fashion.

Here's an idea.....stop listening to what other people think. People have stupid opinions on everything. Rock has been labelled "the devil's music" since before most of us were ever born, it just goes back to a different time and different beliefs where music was concerned. I mean for fucks sake the didn't even show below Elvis's waist for the longest time because he was girating when he danced. In the end the only thing that matters is what YOU think. No one can change who you are, what you choose to wear or what you choose to listen to and if you allow them to influence those aspects of your life then you're an idiot.

ok i have a question... whats wrong with being labeled by the type of music u listen to? no one is saying its a bad thing and i also have an observation about 3 years ago it seemed everyone was all I'm goth, I'm punk blaablaaball and now those very people are all DONT LABEL ME am i the only person that has realized this??

who cares, everyone is people and if others want to label people by their taste in music than so be it, it's not affecting anyone and the people who have probably said this don't even know you that well, so who are they to judge?

i agree with authority26... cuz he's the "trend capitol of the world" and.... who cares if u get labeled... if they r gonna label you... dont let them label u as one thing. i listen to punk, rock, and rap but am commonly called a prep. dont give them a fair chance! make them question their beleifs! make them doubt themselves! make them think "hey! what am i doing? maybe this kid is a prep... but he's got on punk, now hes got on rap..... wait! he changed his clothes now he's dressed like a rocker and has on some.....
