Ok everybody, NEW POEM, don't know what to call it yet exactly.
Anyway since most of you won't know what i'm talking about in the poem
it is about a show jumping competition with my horse and I. Well here
goes...(ahem)
Quick, fast, two beat
motion,
Showing his love, his
ultimate devotion,
Set up perfect, lined up
at center,
After the judge states,
“please enter,”
Ears pricked forward,
ready to respond,
As she whispers, in his
ear, “come on,”
He picks up his lead, a
flawless stride,
Judges eagerly
scrutinizing, so they abide,
As they approach, four
feet seems too tall,
A flash of horror, what if
they fall?
He collects himself
skillfully, ready to leap,
The jump remains behind,
in utter defeat,
That second in time,
suspended in air,
Carefully he lands, to not
hurt the prize he bears,
They finish the course,
not a flaw not a fault,
They return to center, and
she asks him to halt,
Applause is heard, from
all around,
Shes handed first place,
as she steps to the ground.
