religion.
Religion.
Every one believes in a different god. Just think of all the religions there are now. All different yet the same. All believing that there is some higher power deciding the people lives for them. All believing that sins will send you to hell and good deeds and kindness will bring you to heaven. But how could this be? How could all of these “gods” possibly exist? If one person, say a Muslim Extremist for example, believes that America is evil and that American citizens are the devil, then in his religion it would not be a sin to crash a plane into the twin towers. His god would permit this deed. But in another religion this would be a sin. So by which gods name shall the man’s sole be judged? Who is most righteous? The man’s friends and family back in his homeland would all celebrate what he died for, but the American people on the other hand would be outraged. So if the Iraqi people believe that what they did was right, is it still an act of terrorism? Should American soldiers be sent to Iraq to fight a “war on terror” when all they’re really doing is throwing their corporate weight around? The war is only right in one direction.
Thousands of years ago, religion was pure and untarnished by the need for money and expensive cathedrals. Now donations and fundraising are needed just to keep these so-called “holy grounds” from being evicted. So if these grounds were really holy then would god let them be taken from the church? No. God would cause a flood or a plague or something of that sort.
All religions are based on ten simple rules. These rules are called the Ten Commandments, and Moses wrote them in the torah.
But wait a minute. Why is there only mention of Moses or the torah in Christian bibles? If all law is based on these rules then why is it not in all bibles? People live by the bible, should they not live by the law?
If all it takes to be a religious group is money, power, a belief in something, a group of followers, and a strong leader; then was Hitler not a god and were the nazis not his followers? Adolf Hitler was a tyrant. He had no right to do what he did. But it was what he believed was right. So who is to say if he was right or wrong? Keep in mind that what is right to you may very well be wrong to the rest of the world.
My point is, religion is tainted and no god is better than another. So if so if there is not just one god, which one do you die for?
The choice is yours.
I choose atheism.
