Factoid: this is how to fall-If you are losing your balance, crouch down on the skateboard so that you will not have as far to fall. In a fall, the idea is to land on the fleshy parts of your body. If you fall, try to roll rather than absorb the force with your arms. Even though it may be difficult during a fall, try to relax your body, rather than to get a stiff.

Rock to fakie is an easy BEGINNER move. Its fun to do in a mini ramp because when you do it gets you some speed for tails slides and fakie 5-0's... First roll up the transition like you would normally, now lift your front truck over the coping tap it down and pull it back up and slap it back down as you are going down. The trick is to maintain your balance so you can pull the trucks of the coping and not hang up, this is easier with bigger wheels... Remember stay parallel to the ramp when going down.

Kickflips are one of the most DIFFICULT tricks to learn when you first start skating. You should be able to OLLIE at least one deck and be FAIRLY FAMILAR with skateboarding.

The kickflip is considered the most difficult, basic trick. It combines the ollie with the skateboard doing a barrel roll, where it just rotates on an axis that goes across length ways. It rotates counter clockwise when looking from behind. Once the kickflip is learned, a lot more difficult tricks that combine the kickflip with other rotations become possible to learn. The stance of this trick, is similar to an ollie, but the front foot is usually closer to the heel edge of the board.

Keep skateboards out of water. Boards will absorb water. Water can break down the glue holding the maple plies together, causing delamination. Water will also corrode (rust) bearings and mounting hardware. This corrosion will slow down and seize bearings. Avoid rain, and skate under covered areas if the ground is wet. If you must skate in wet conditions, dry off your board as much as possible after a skate session, and lube your dildo.
