Freedom and Heaven

I went to heaven for awhile,
and looked at all the gold, marble, and tile.
While I was flying,
I saw a man crying,
Even in heaven, very sad was he.
I sad to him with a grin,
"My friend don't cry, up here you're free."
He turned and looked then said to me,
"My boy, to me, freedom is not free.
I've lost so much from war and strife,
My wife, children, and my own life."
So he had died of war I thought to me.
I talked to him more.
Then my time in heaven was no more.
Back on earth I looked around,
Seeing the strife and loss of life,
I realized then that he was right,
FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE
